Monitor your first API in under 2 minutes.
Get your first API monitored and alerts configured in three steps.
1. Create an account
Sign up at varen.dev/auth/signup using GitHub or Google. No credit card required.
2. Add an API to monitor
From the dashboard, click API Catalog in the sidebar to browse 100+ pre-configured APIs.
Click any API to add it to your monitors. Varen will immediately begin tracking it — no configuration needed.
Want to monitor an API that's not in the catalog? Click Custom API in the sidebar and paste any API documentation URL.
3. Configure alerts
By default, Varen sends breaking change alerts to your account email. You can customize this per API:
- Go to Dashboard → click on an API → Settings
- Under Alert Routing, choose your channels:
- Email — instant alerts for breaking changes (Pro), daily summary for the rest
- Slack — requires Pro plan and a webhook URL in Settings
That's it. Varen will scan your API on schedule and notify you when something changes.
What happens next
- Hobby plan: Your APIs are checked every 24 hours
- Pro plan: APIs are checked every hour
- Breaking changes: You get an instant alert with a diff, severity badge, and suggested action
- Non-breaking changes: Bundled into a daily summary email at 9 AM UTC
