Email Alerts
Configure email notifications for API changes.
Varen sends two types of email notifications:
Instant alerts
When a breaking, deprecated, or removed change is detected, you receive an immediate email with:
- The API name and affected endpoint
- A severity badge
- A plain-English description of what changed
- AI-powered analysis with suggested action (for Tier 2 changes)
Instant alerts are sent as soon as the change is detected — within minutes of the scan completing.
Daily summary
Every day at 9 AM UTC, you receive a summary email of all non-breaking changes from the past 24 hours:
- Added endpoints and parameters
- Changed behaviors
- Bug fixes
- Cosmetic documentation updates
Changes are grouped by API for easy scanning.
Breaking changes are never held for the daily summary — they trigger instant alerts (Pro plan).
Email address
By default, alerts go to your account email. You can override this per API in the alert routing settings — useful for sending alerts for specific APIs to a team inbox.
