How catalog APIs work
Catalog APIs are monitored at the system level. This means:
- One scan per API per day, shared across all users
- When you add a catalog API, you instantly get access to its full change history
- You don't need to provide a documentation URL — it's already configured
Adding a catalog API
- Navigate to API Catalog in the dashboard sidebar
- Browse or search for the API you want
- Click Add to Monitors
The API will appear in your dashboard immediately.
Requesting a new catalog API
Don't see the API you need? You can:
- Add it as a custom API — paste the documentation URL and Varen will monitor it for you
- Request it — email [email protected] and we'll consider adding it to the catalog
Catalog APIs are curated for reliability. We verify that the documentation URL is stable, the format is parseable, and changes are meaningful before adding an API to the catalog.
